You’ve had a lot on your plate (HA! Is that a food server joke? No? OK), and hope that it gets better. It seems I’ve been struggling financially all my life. As my dear aunt once told me, ‘if your biggest problem is money, then you don’t have one.’ Philosophically, I suppose that’s true….but it’s really not a good excuse for not paying your bills (yes…I’ve tried it).

Though the customer was 100% in the wrong (read rude ass bitch), the manager should have stepped up. I think the correct response would have been, ‘thank you for bringing it to my attention. I’ll handle it from here on out.’ But the manager disrespected the server, even the whole wait staff by taking that woman’s side–in public no less.

Your tale brought back trauma from my own past when I was publicly berated and humiliated in front of customers by a manager. In my case it was not the rudeness of the customer, though. It was the stupidity and blindness of the manager. My heart goes out to this server.

I hate being seen. I’m a bit mental about it, actually. Watching others, though, is fascinating as long as they don’t know I’m watching. But I don’t go out of my way to spy, mind you.

I have never seen Rear Window. It’s in my queue along with dozens of other movies. I don’t watch movies very often, so my queue grows more often than it shrinks.
